that kid in the red shirt is jeff hurn and hes amazing and ive loved him for a real long time.
this is his new band.
they are, in picture order:
jeff, deryck, pat, and justin.
they are stupendous.

they came through nashville last week and stayed with me thursday and friday and britney and i went to their show at rocketown on friday.
i know im a tad biased because i love jeff and all, but they are really fucking good and they were my favorite band of the night...which i guess isnt saying much since i only really liked one of the other bands...okay 2. but yeah.

theyre all really awesome.
they made me laugh a lot.

and i adore their tour manager kevin. even though his bitch ass poured red bull on me...fucker.

i havent been able to take the cd out of my cd player since jeff gave it to me friday night...

im a little in love with deryck.
i heart his voice.
and i actually talked to him the most, about stupid random crap of course, but i like him lots.

you should totally go listen to them, and when they make it to your town, go say hello, buy their cd, and give them eggs...they like eggs...

this guy is amazing! seriously, great.

his name is AMOS KENNEDY and charlsie and i went and listened to him a few nights ago and watched part of a documentary about him and looked at a bunch of his prints.
he does wood cut printing.
its awesome.
all of it is really good.
he does posters and books and stuff.
i want a lot of it.
like these two.
theres a whole series about dance, one about war, and the coffee pair.
one says drinking coffee makes you queer, the other black.
want.

and then all the political ones. there are a few rosa parks ones that are simply breath taking. and the mlk ones...need these things.

he was really funny and nice and humble.
if you get a chance to see him, buy his stuff, whatever, DO IT!

ive shed a few happy time tears in the past few days.
hes just wonderful and i know hes just a guy and all, but hes just...so...inspiring and wheni look at him i am so happy. and filled with this expectant good and hope and just...it feels good.
im happy about him.
i have faith in him.
i have faith that things will be better.
i love that hes smart.
i love that hes such an embodiment of all these wonderful things that i think our world has been waiting for for such a long time...

i rarely slide heels on my feet, but when i do, they must make me die a little inside.
i only own a few pairs because im picky like that...but these...i died a lot.
im sure that the photography helps because its pretty damn amazing.

battlestar returns!!!!

i started watching battlestar because josh is real gay for it. my saying that he is gay for it is in no way to lead to the idea that i wasnt all kinds of intersted. im big on sci-fi shows. im big on political shows. im big on good writing. im big on mary mcdonnell and even bigger on edward james olmos. so i was all kinds of down for a new obsession. although i didnt know if i would be as gay for it as him.
yep. sold.
its so close to perfection its scary.
its the west wing in space.

it starts tomorrow night. the last 10 episodes. it looks damn awesome. i would like to watch it with tardface, but hes a tard face, so thats not an option. but whatever. im excited.
mr olmos and mrs mcdonnell were on the view this morning. i want her to be my mommy. i love my mum and dont really want her replaced, but mary mcdonnell is great. i love her.
and these last 10 episodes are gonna be damn good.
im excited. and sad.
the whole not wanting it to end thing blows, but ive kinda gotten a little use to that these days. the snippets and stuff ive seen online...yeah. theys going out with a bang.

dude, stephen colbert is so dreamy...

tonights episode was teh funniez.

alan colmes, formerly of hannity and colmes(as of...like yesterday?) became and ceased to be the cohost of the colbert report this evening.

since it just aired im sure clips arent out yet, but it was glorious. heres a few highlights:

alan gets a midgit sized chair so hes much shorter than stephen in the frame.

they cover alans face with many graphics.

alan is provided a list of allowed responses to stephens commentary, including but not limited to "oh snap." and something about a hamburger...i laughed and now dont recall...

tek jansen made an appearance. always good times.

john king from cnn was on to talk about his new show, when discussing possible titles, stephen came up with ON THE JOHN

president bush became an 8 layer cake...

after stephen paid alan to leave the his cohost position, alan turned into a bat and flew away.

good times, good times.

also, you should watch tonights daily show as well. and if you dont want to watch the whole thing at least find the clip of anderson cooper hosting the doggie debate to pick the obamas new family member.

and if you still need more laughs, find the video of jon stewart from crossfire...you know my feeling for tucker carlson and his bowties if you know me at all, and this stewart appearance made me pee myself. and fall in love and lust for him all over again. like 648432138 times. its that good.

ever wondered why is it dudes are allowed to be pervs and its okay, but that doesnt really hold true for the ladies? well i have. and im obvs not alone...
this is an article about a bill concerning women showing off their tatas on beaches in sydney.

i agree with the fact that sure, some cultures shouldnt be made to feel uncomfortable just because they have different feelings about things (however i feel about those beliefs aside), but hey, we arent talking about public schools, or hospitals or any other kind of mandatory thing people have to be a part of. we are talking about beaches. of the touristy persuasion. now, im no brain surgeon(yet, isnt that right charlsie!) but i do believe that if I were a tourist who may be upset by something like topless sunbathers, id put a lil research into my trip planning and avoid beaches where its allowed...but you know. thats just me.

the other big part of this whole thing is the focal point about how women can be in posession of thoughts just as naughty as men when it comes to the opposite sex.

now, here is where im all kinds of in agreement mode. chick are just as pervy, if not more, than men. most of us simply dont vocalize and act on those thoughts as often as men. and even less so do we use them as an excuse for our actions.

im kind of a perv.
i like sex.
a lot.
i think about it a lot too.
and though what i find attractive is in some caes not quite the norm, its there.

however!
i have a brain. and impulse control. and you know, a moral compass.
now, i dont think all guys are scum. i know too many good ones to think that, but i also know that this double standard is just plain retarded.

i love this kid.
cant help it.
project runway is on right now and i am reminded of how much i liked christian. hes a pompous lil jerkface, and i wanna be his bff. for reals.
hes annoying at times, okay, most of them, but i dont care. hes mad talented and i want him to make me some rockin clothes.
lots of them. for all the times.

ive decided that im spending my birthday in Philly...only mike knows so far...i should probs inform maureen and vinny since im gonna make one or both of them let me crash at their place...either way, im ready.
my only fear is that ill get there and never leave.
its not so much a fear as a deep deep wish...i hate everywhere but Philly. its the only place ive ever really felt at home. even when i was all alone. walking around that city is one of the most fulfilling things ive ever done...and i did it quite a bit last time i was there...
im also a bit in love with it because it has the largest number of people who make me feel loved. and wanted. and just plain happy.
i miss it everyday.
and i dream about it all the time...how weird is that...not only dreams that are taking place there(which happens A LOT) but sometimes ill wake up and ill have just dreamed about the city itself...the skyline, rittenhouse park, walking the streets around maureens moms apartment, playing in the fountains, and running from security guards for it...i miss it like its a person...and to me, it means almost as much as the few select people who know my deep dark secrets.

Philadelphia has my heart more than any man probably ever will...and i wont feel complete until im back.
im just passing my time trying to figure out whats going to become of me until i know how to make it back there for real.
